Mariama Sonko

Founder & Managing Director

Mariama Sonko is an agribusiness consultant, researcher and entrepreneur specialising in sustainable project development, renewable energy infrastructure and ESG-driven agricultural value chains across West Africa.

As Founder and Managing Director of Verde RenewAgro Consulting, based in Germany, Mariama bridges European technology providers, impact investors and development frameworks with commercial agribusiness and rural infrastructure opportunities in The Gambia. Her work focuses on unlocking productive growth through solar-powered irrigation, decentralised cold storage, community solar infrastructure and capacity-building for farmer organisations.

She combines international commercial banking experience with an advanced academic foundation in business administration, finance and sustainability management.
